Getting started

How Wanderbu works

Wanderbu is an AI travel confidence engine for complex regional journeys. Instead of one large prompt, it runs a chain of specialized agents to build your itinerary.

  1. When you submit a trip request, Wanderbu:
  2. Parses your preferences into structured constraints (origin, dates, group type, pace, luggage, budget, concerns).
  3. Generates route candidates — fastest, most comfortable, family-friendly, and budget options.
  4. Checks feasibility across all route options and flags risks like too many transfers, overpacked days, or risky bus dependencies.
  5. Decides stopovers based on route logic — where you sleep and why.
  6. Scores each day's comfort across nine dimensions including walking burden, luggage, rest quality, and transport timing.
  7. Writes the full itinerary with daily timelines, transport legs, accommodation areas, and meal/rest suggestions.
  8. Generates a booking checklist with action items for hotels, transport, restaurants, and luggage.
  9. Produces mobile travel instructions — concise, offline-friendly notes for each day of travel.

Your finished plan is saved to your account and can be synced to the Wanderbu mobile app for offline access during your trip.

Bu-Tokens & billing

What is a Bu-Token?

A BuBu-Token is how Wanderbu counts plan generations. One Bu-Token equals one fully validated AI trip plan.

Editing and revising your plan — including using the revision flow to adjust pace, reduce hotel changes, or optimize for older parents — is always free. You only use a Bu-Token when you generate a new itinerary from scratch.

Bu-Tokens are sold in packs. Larger packs include bonus Bu-Tokens. There are no subscriptions for individual travelers — buy Bu-Tokens once and use them when you need them.

Current Bu-Token packs and prices are listed on the Pricing page.

Mobile app & offline access

How to sync your plan to mobile

After generating your itinerary, click the "Sync to mobile app" button on your itinerary result page. This creates a mobile access link tied to your account.

  1. On your phone:
  2. Open the Wanderbu mobile app.
  3. Log in with the same account you used on the web.
  4. Your synced trip will appear in your trip list automatically.

The mobile app caches your full itinerary offline, including: - Day-by-day schedule and timeline - Transport leg notes (mode, duration, transfer instructions) - Hotel and accommodation area notes - Booking checklist with progress tracking - Backup plan notes - Key instructions for each transport leg

You don't need internet access during travel to use your itinerary. The app stores a local copy when you sync.

Your itinerary

Using the revision flow

Wanderbu's revision agent lets you adjust your plan without starting from scratch.

You can ask for changes like: - "Make it slower" — adds more buffer time between activities and transport legs - "Reduce hotel changes" — consolidates nights to minimize packing/unpacking - "Optimize for older parents" — reduces walking, adds rest periods, chooses hotels near stations - "Make this cheaper" — adjusts accommodation areas and transport choices to lower cost - "Add more food stops" — adds meal and rest breaks throughout the day - "Avoid early mornings" — shifts transport legs to start later in the day - "Make it better for a group of friends" — adjusts group pacing and activity balance

Revisions do not consume a Bu-Token. Your original plan is preserved and you can compare versions.

Group & family planning

Setting up a group or family trip

When creating your trip intake, you'll be asked about your group composition: - Solo, group of friends, adult children with older parents, or family - Group size - Age profile (including whether any travelers have mobility limitations) - Pace preference (relaxed, moderate, or packed) - Luggage level

For family trips with older parents, Wanderbu activates a comfort-first mode that: - Reduces the number of daily hotel changes - Chooses accommodations near train or bus stations - Adds longer buffers between transport legs - Reduces total daily walking burden - Flags days with high physical demand and suggests alternatives

You can further refine the plan using the revision flow after generation.
